Behind the Bubble

GGJ 2025 at ArkHaus

A young girl sits in class, convinced that the other girls are talking behind her back. Whispers fill her mind, her breath quickens. When she looks up, the girls have turned into monsters.  

A balloon appears around her neck. Panicked, she runs out of the classroom and into the corridor. The monsters follow her. As they get closer, the balloon grows bigger, and it becomes harder for her to breathe. But everything is just a product of her mind.  

She suffers from anxiety, paranoia, and schizophrenia, causing her to perceive the world in this distorted way. In reality, there is no one around her. The balloon and monsters are manifestations of her fears and insecurities. If the balloon grows too large, it will lift her into the air, leaving her suspended. 

The game combines a "Bubble" theme with a sense of unease.
